HYPED is the award-winning student hyperloop team in that originated at the University of Edinburgh. Alongside building its second subscale prototype of the 750mph transport system originally proposed by Elon Musk, HYPED has now created a STEM outreach programme contextualized in Hyperloop. Aiming to bring more gender diversity into the field, HYPED has created a two-step programme that aims at encouraging more pupils to chose STEM subjects at Standard Grades/GCSEs. Through in-class workshops showcasing the three stages of implementing a new transport link (Design Build Operate) and a national design competition (asking pupils to design the most inclusive passenger experience) HYPED aims to show how a STEM-oriented career can have a profound impact not only on the local environment but also on the wider society. At the event, HYPED will present its outreach programme, aiming for a rollout in September 2018. More information on the team can be found at
